- Have you seen the new planters near the front door? A big thank you to Kingsway Church who has volunteered to help around our neighborhood. They bought, installed, and planted the 3 planters. We also owe another thank you to our mystery MUM planter who added some beautiful mums into our front door pots. Thank you!

PTO Notes
Dear Montclair Staff,
Team Wildcats wanted to give you an update of where we are this year regarding money. Currently, we have $14,000 in our bank account. The bare minimum budget, which you see below, costs us $7,000 each year. Because we can not, at the moment, hold any type of in person fundraising event and because we do not know what the year will bring us in the ability to raise funds, we had to take $7,000 to keep for the 2021-2022 year budget in case we are not able to raise any funds this year. Therefore, several things which Team Wildcats PTO has been funding in the past will not be able to happen this year. The major items having to be cut this year are teacher request funds and special events and enrichment, such as school program assemblies.
Where Does The Money Go?
Each teacher will receive $100 to help with their classroom. Total = $4,200
Teacher Appreciation = $500
Montclair Alumni Scholarship = $750
PTO insurance (Organizations outside the school require insurance) = $850
Print costs = $200
Students Special Back to School Gift = $300
Extra money goes right back to support our students and for teacher requests!
The major events relied on to bring in money for Team Wildcats has always been Pancake Man and the Carnival in recent years. However, those events only bring in around $4,000 - $5,000 total. The spending of PTO each year has been much more than the amount brought in. We are trying to generate ideas to help fix this. Because of COVID restrictions, this will be a very difficult task this year.
Today, we are starting an online no contact fundraiser, as you will see in the fliers to be sent home in today’s Friday folders. We hope people who are able will donate to our school fund as an easy fundraiser. We have set the goal of this fundraiser as $7,000. That is an extremely lofty goal, but one we would love to reach. Just as a thought, if each student donated $1, we would already have over $700. We also have monthly food nights planned as well as some community building events.
Please promote these events with your students and families. Any additional money that we raise can be put back towards those things we had to cut. Also, we would love to see you join us in our monthly meetings if you are able. They will always be available through zoom.
If you have any suggestions for fundraisers for a year like this where so much will need to be done online, or future years where things are back to normal, please share those ideas with us. We would love to hear them! As always, the biggest challenge is finding volunteers who are willing to take on a leading role in events and fundraisers. There is only so much that four people can do. We don’t expect you to take on anymore than you already do, however, we would love to work as a team with you, the school, and community to reach the goal of supporting OUR school.
We are sorry to have to share this disappointing news with you. You already put in so much extra time for students that we wish we could always give you and the students whatever is wanted and needed. Hopefully this will be the year that our families and community can really come together financially and with their support.
Please contact us with any questions or ideas.
Sincerely,
Montclair Team Wildcats
