Superintendent's Notes
April 22, 2022
CCPS Community:
Last night we held our annual CCPS Teacher of the Year Gala, a truly wonderful celebration of the teaching profession. Congratulations to each of the 26 nominees! I would also like to extend a big THANK YOU to our event sponsor, APG Federal Credit Union.
I would like to congratulate our 2022 Teacher of the Year, Nadeline Fleischer-Pile. Nadeline is a fourth-grade teacher at Perryville Elementary School and I have no doubt she will represent us well as she proceeds to the Maryland Teacher of the Year competition. I stopped by Perryville Elementary this morning to congratulate her again and it was so great to witness the celebration with all of her school family.
As I said in my speech last night, CCPS is a family, and we stay together, support each other, and celebrate each other. It is truly an honor to be a part of this second-to-none organization.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jeffrey A. Lawson
Superintendent of Schools

Maryland Public Schools Strategic Planning Survey
The Maryland State Board of Education and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) are drafting a multi-year strategic plan for the future of Maryland's education system. Public schools serve to develop our future workforce and future community leaders, and it is critical that they hear from as many people as possible as they work through this process.
The guiding objective is to develop processes and create space for stakeholder input as the State Board and MSDE work to develop a strategic plan. The strategic plan will guide the implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.
