Fellowship of Christian Athletes / Students is Back at LMS & LHS
Years ago, Lyons High School had a Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle. Starting this month, at the request of students at Lyons Middle School and Lyons High School, the Fellowship of Christian Students has begun. The group will meet on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 in Mrs. Tommer's room for breakfast, prayer, and a short devotional. This student-led ministry hopes to see students grow together in faith no matter church attendance.

Job Olympics to be Held in Lyons This Week
Job Olympics is an event that is being held in Lyons at the Celebration Centre this week on Friday that will bring about a dozen visiting schools from around the area with their teams of special education students to participate in around 50 different events. Some of these events include stocking shelves, counting money, folding laundry, bagging groceries, sweeping floors, pet care, and car care. There are normally from 80-100 students participating with approximately 100 adults and Lyons High School students judging the events and helping to supervise. After scores are tallied, there is an awards presentation and a dance. The Rice County Special Services Cooperative and the Transition Council of South Central Kansas sponsor the event. Thanks to RCSSC Compliance Officer Linda Keller and RCSSC Transition Coordinator Gaye Callich, who spend months scheduling the annual event.
