February 5, 2018: Olympic Edition

Does your school hold any classroom or school-wide events to celebrate the Olympics? I have updated several resources in three different formats to give people a choice. I try to curate only free materials. We had a wonderful opening ceremony one year at Creston, complete with the Parade of Nations (homerooms), the "Olympic Theme" as they marched in, orchestra numbers, and a welcome from an exchange teacher from Japan (yes, it was 20 years ago).

Champions Together: Training Opportunity February 16

There will be an opportunity to meet with Lee Lonzo of Special Olympics and receive the training and materials to participate in Champions Together. This meeting will be held at the IASP office in Indianapolis on Friday, February 16 from 1-3 pm. Our recent weather made it difficult for multiple, regional meetings to be held. This training will be for any school that has already signed up, as well as additional schools who would like to participate. Questions? Contact Susie Highley

Congratulations to Lowell Middle School, First Middle School to Earn the Champions Together Banner!

Indiana Connected Educators shared this opportunity to recognize educators. Simply go to bit.ly/icegrams and complete the Google Form. This might be something you could do on your own at a later day for staff or students with your own certificate as well. (BTW, their conference in October is fabulous and inexpensive!)
