The meaning for the song
I choose this song because after the battle of Gettysburg, people walking through out the field were looking at the bodies and probably thinking that they were lucky to survive and maybe others where in anguish that there fellow soldiers have died. Also, since this was one of the worst battles ever fought in American history, it's a very grave day with everyone mourning over the loss of fellow soldiers, family, and friends.
Quote form civil war
May we all, as a nation of believers, fight for the achievement of America; may we make sacrifices worthy of those proud men and women who fought for us, labored for us, bled soil from the beaches of Normandy to the fields of Gettysburg for us.
Cory Booker (at the battle of Gettyburg)
