Reach. Train. Send

Chaplain's Corner
In case you haven’t noticed, parenting is hard. That’s why we need help. As the old proverb says, it takes a village to raise a child. Thank you for making South City Athletic Club a part of your village. We want to partner with you to help your child become everything God intends for them to be. This helps fulfill our mission to reach, train and send players locally and internationally to make a positive difference in their lives, homes, schools and communities.
Here’s the themes we’ve been talking about in the month of September:
· I need Christian friends.
· God wants me to be honest.
· God forgives me.
· Because God forgives me, I need to forgive others.
We all need help in life. If your player is going to live for Jesus, they will need Christian friends to help them on that journey. You can support this by regularly taking them to church or encouraging their involvement in youth group or a school Bible club. As your child grows in Christ, they should learn to live out new character traits. One of those is being honest with others. And when we aren’t honest, we can ask for forgiveness. God will always forgive us when we ask. And because his forgiveness is so great, he wants us to forgive others when they hurt us. That’s hard, but we can do it because of how much God has already forgiven us.
These are the lessons SCAC is teaching your children on a weekly basis. Our prayer is that they are learning these values but also learning how to live them out at home, school and on the field. Thank you for letting us partner with you. Please let us know how we can serve you and your family.
One Goal, One Dollar!
One Goal, One Dollar is essentially a fundraiser for Kristen Sanchez. Kristen is a 13 year old soccer player and family of 2 of our own Sanchez players (Eva and Emma) who has been battling Leukemia for over two years. We all know how expensive anything medical related is. We want to help!
For the Month of October, a manager or assigned parent, will have a collection box at games for all parents to place in a dollar per goal scored by our SCAC players.
- 2012 teams will collect one Quarter instead of a dollar since scores run too high.
- This is voluntary fundraiser.
- Make sure to pray for Kristen before each game.
- The program will run for the month of October.
Sometime in early November, we will have a player, parents, and coach from each team go together with Chaplain Jeff to visit the Sanchez family to pray and bring the donation to them!
We can do this!
