Dodge Traditional Magnet MS
August 2023
Hello Bulldog Families
We are so excited to have all of you here this year! We welcomed a dynamic group of new sixth grade students and cannot wait to see what they accomplish as bulldogs. It was wonderful seeing our students that are returning, many of them grew over the summer!
Next week is a busy week for our campus. Wednesday, August 23rd, our staff will have their first Professional Learning Day and there is no school. Our Open House is coming up on Thursday, August 24th at 5:30pm. Please see below for more information. Then on Friday, August 25th is picture day. Students must wear their uniform for this picture.
Our wonderful Dean of Students, Ms. Arvayo, has been introducing students to our new Code of Conduct updates. She visited every Science class this week to cover details and answer questions. Take a moment to review the Code of Conduct and become familiar with the changes. We will also cover some highlights at Open House.
Look below for more information on upcoming dates for our teams and concerts. You will also find information for our Parent Advisory Council (PAC).
We appreciate the many of you who filled out our Dodge Transportation Survey We are using this input along with the TUSD School Safety and Traffic department to make better choices for our students.
Communication is important to us at Dodge; please reach out to us. You can find teacher and staff email addresses on our website. You can also call and leave a message at our offices. We look forward to a great year together!
With gratitude,
Ms. Meneguin

Tuson Korean Ambassador Program (TKAP)
Last year, Dodge joined the TKAP family. TKAP is an exciting program that spans only 3 TUSD middle schools to learn about culture and foster relationships across our community with children from South Korea. We went on field trips and shared the information with our new friends through zoom meetings last year.
For more information on the program visit Tucson Korea Ambassador Program Spring 2023 (tusd1.org)

Drop Off/Pick Up
The bus bay is located at the front of our school on E. Pima St. There is no parent drop-off or pick-up at this location.
Parent drop off/pick up:
To use our main parking lot entrance, follow the flow of traffic around the lot. Students will enter and exit campus through the gate at the north end of the parking lot. Please watch for direction from our staff. It is our goal to get you in and out of the lot as quickly and safely as possible. Cars are not to pass or cut across the parking lot. We realize for the first few days this may be a longer process than usual. We appreciate your cooperation in advance.
We also have access for parent pick up/drop off on the east side of our campus on N. Sahuara Ave. When using this curbside access, we ask that you not have students cross the flow of cars. Instead pull up to the curb for them to safely get into the passenger side of your vehicle.
Dodge Student Dress Code
The dress code aims to help students maintain their appearance within the accepted standards of Dodge Traditional Magnet Middle School. Our staff asks that you review and plan carefully when selecting items for your child. Students will need to call home if they are not in dress code.
CHOICES FOR BOTTOM GARMENTS:
Color/Style:
The dress code includes solid-colored black or Khaki beige Dockers or jeans-style pants, shorts, or skirts made of cotton blends, denim, or corduroy fabrics. All garments must be hemmed. No overalls, ultra-baggy, or pants/shorts with holes are allowed. Belts, if worn, must be secured in loops. Wallet chains must be kept out of sight, i.e., in the pocket of pants or shorts.
Shorts, skorts, skirts, or capris will be no shorter than your fingertips with your hand naturally at your side. Dresses may also be worn if they are the correct length, have sleeves, and are of a modest fit and style. Dresses must be black, Khaki, or a dress code shirt color. Leggings and fish-net stockings are not allowed. No undergarments should be visible. Accessorizing your outfit must not distract the learning environment.
CHOICES FOR TOP GARMENTS:
Color/Style:
The dress code includes solid white, light blue, and dark green polo-style or full button with a short or long sleeve collar. Shirts are to be sized appropriately and long enough to remain tucked in a while standing and sitting. Shirts should not be form-fitting. Undershirts must be white or the color of the outer dress code shirt.
Outer Wear:
No pullover hoodies are allowed. Solid color outerwear or outerwear with College/university logos are allowed. The jacket must be able to be completely open down the front and remains open down the front while in the building.
Shoes/Sandals:
Due to safety concerns, no flip-flops, slip-on, platforms, or cleats. Socks are recommended and should not be distracting in appearance. Shoes must be closed-toed for safety.
Hair
It should not be of extreme contrast to natural hair color and should not be distracting in appearance—NO unnatural highlights of any color, pink, red, green, or blue.
Jewelry
No jewelry on the eyebrow, nose, lip, or tongue is allowed on campus. In addition, NO gauges or mock gauges are allowed.
Consequences:
Any student found to violate the dress code will be asked to change. Repeat violations will result in more severe consequences.
