Student Spotlight

Grade 4 scientists in Mrs. King, Mrs. Koch and Mrs. Malooley's classes studied soil samples from the SRES campus and documented details in their interactive science notebooks. Local university students will assist our students in determining ideal campus sites for upcoming tree planting. SRES loves science!

3. Students Restroom Etiquette

There has been a notable increase of toilet paper rolls and used paper towels thrown on the floor. Please help us to maintain tidy student restrooms by reminding your students to respect our school. We also ask that you assess restrooms during passing periods and contact Dirk if attention is needed. Thank you!

4. October Fire Drill

Although our next fire drill will be unannounced, please know that it will occur on a day when weather is optimal but not during PK/JK nap time (1:00pm-2:30pm). :)

5. Field Experiences

We have included a new link at the bottom of the weekly update that features upcoming field experiences. Please let Jill Stedham know if any corrections or updates need to be made.

6. REMINDER: Attention SRES Faculty and Staff Tutors

If you tutor students after school, please email Kathleen Milkey with the days, hours and location of your tutoring sessions. She needs this info for scheduling rooms for enrichment classes and accounting for all students and faculty/staff during weather emergencies. Thank you!

7. Project CyberSafe Presentation

Project Cyber Safe Presentation for the SRES community~ Tuesday Oct. 4 7pm -8:30 pm.

We are delighted to have Kristen Martin, a Juvenile Community Prosecutor with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, present Project Cybersafe. This is an interactive presentation that aims to educate parents and caregivers about identifying cyberbullying and when words that are used online constitute a crime. We will discuss tips on how to communicate with children regarding internet safety and the importance of protecting personal information while utilizing social media and the potential impact of their decisions on future opportunities. Questions, please email Myra Mariani.

8. Thanks to you, Service Day was a Success!

Thank you to everyone who welcomed Middle Division students in their rooms Friday for our first of three service days this year. A special thanks to Mr. Smith for coordinating service opportunities for each of our grade 7 and 8 students in and around SRES. The afternoon culminated in the unveiling of the bicentennial bison on Meridian.
