Principal Connection
Dorr Families,
It is that time of year when students engage in State required testing. These tests give us information about your student, the progress they have made this year, and what instructional practices we should use going forward. Our 3rd grade students take the MSTEP and NWEA. All other grade levels take NWEA.
We know students handle testing differently and some become stressed. Please help us by reassuring your students to do their best. We know they have learned a lot this year and this is their chance to “Showcase” all they have learned.
Thank you,
Mrs. Seniura

Distinguished Artist
Dorr Elementary has a Distinguished Artist Program in which student artwork is on display like an art gallery for the school year. Each year 9 students are chosen as a Distinguished Artist. The distinguished artist is a student who is responsible in art, shows their creativity and works hard on all projects. Ms. Corcoran chooses 3 to 4 pieces of artwork in which the students followed directions and completed the project adding their creativity. A committee of staff members then votes on the projects to choose the winner.
Congratulations Braxton Grossi!
Braxton is an outstanding student in art class! He works diligently and puts an abundant amount of effort into his work. Braxton follows directions well and puts his own creative ideas into his work while working within the given guidelines. Braxton always follows art room procedures and is polite to his teacher and fellow students. Congratulations Braxton and keep up the great work.

Dorr Elementary Gets New Buddy Benches
Student Council held a coin war in January to purchase a Buddy Bench. They went to the PTO with a proposal to “buddy” up with them to purchase 2.
On Wednesday afternoon we unveiled both benches to the students. We also taught them what a Buddy bench is and how they can use it to find new friends.
