Form 10 Applications Due (for 5th-grade students wanting to attend a Jr. High outside of their residence area)

We are committed to starting the new year off with a Tech-Free Challenge at school! We hope you will consider doing this at home, as well. Teachers will only be using technology for instructional purposes (i.e. daily slides, curriculum presentation). Students will not be completing assignments on their Chromebooks. We encourage our families to participate by eliminating or limiting screen time at home this week and instead focus on connecting with each other in authentic ways. Perhaps you could do a puzzle, have a game night, or do an art project. Encourage your child to read a good book this week. There are so many ways that we can engage our minds without the use of technology!

If your 5th-grade student wants to attend the junior high school outside of your residence area, please note that you must complete a Form 10 application. Form 10s for the 2023-24 school year are only available online and may be completed by clicking on the following link: https://forms.chicousd.org/Forms/Form10-New.

You must complete your application before the deadline (January 20, 2023 at 4 pm) for consideration in the first lottery. To verify which junior high school is your student's resident school, log into your Aeries Portal account and select Student Info and then click on Demographics. The Next School will be reflected as Chico Junior High, Bidwell, or Marsh based on your address.

The Sprouty Store was a huge success last year, and we need donations for the new school year! The Sprouty store is a monthly student store that is available for 1st-5th grade students. Throughout the school year students earn Sproutys, Hooker Oak's school money, and they can spend them at the store. The Sprouty Store is able to happen from parent donations. You can check out our Amazon wish list, which gets directly sent to Hooker Oak, or if you spot something you think students will enjoy you can drop it off at the office. We appreciate all donations to the Sprouty Store!
