Spring 2019
Field Trip for 1st and 2nd grades
On Thursday, April, 25th the 1st & 2nd grade Gifted and Talented students will be spending the day at the Waco Zoo!
All students will be meeting in the back “bus” lane at Cooper Elementary at 7:40 a.m. and leaving promptly at 8:00 a.m. Your child needs to be there by 7:40 to load the bus. We need to come up with a plan to make sure all students are able to get to Cooper on time. More information to come...
Math Challenge Event
Location has been set- McCoy Elementary, however the date is tentative- Thursday, May 9th. This event is after school for a couple of hours. I missed it last year, but I am looking forward to Village really showing them what we can do!
Learning in Action
Brian and Jackson
While researching different animals we just HAD to see how long a 28ft anaconda would look. :)
3rd graders
We are learning about how simple machines work through Legos. On this day students had to not only build their cars, but construct a ram as well. We then made modifications to our builds to see how to get our cars to travel the farthest.
Fielding and Carmen
Students are creating race courses using angles and measuring with protractors to code their DashBots.
Science Fair is Thursday, February 21! **I encourage all GT students to participate in this event.
Rubik's Cubes!!
Our class does not have any Rubik's cubes of our own. If you are interested in donating any cubes for our class it would greatly appreciated. I would love to have 10 or so just for our class to have all the time. Any of the dimensions.
