Dear Trailblazer Families,

Thank you to all of our families that have completed the Elementary Student Learning Model Selection survey. If you were unable to complete the survey, please call the front office at 951-294-6355 and give us your choice ASAP. We are currently reviewing the data and as I have mentioned before, our goal is to have as few changes as possible when students return to on campus instruction.

The following information was sent out from Laura Boss after Tuesday night's board meeting regarding the current status of elementary schools reopening and the elementary waiver.

Riverside County has regressed to the most restrictive purple tier. In the purple tier, schools are not legally able to open. We are continuing to plan for our previously announced opening days on November 30 for elementary and January 5 for secondary. We fully intend and hope to still be able to make this timeline from a colored tiered perspective. There are requirements for how many days we will need to be returned to the red tier before we can open. We have enough days to make that happen at this point and we fully intend to continue planning to be ready.

Elementary Waiver:

We are now again eligible to apply for the elementary waiver. We are very quickly beginning consultation with our classified and certificated labor associations to assess their support as required by the waiver. TVUSD's waiver application is already drafted and ready and pending labor association support, we are hopeful we will be able to submit.

At this time, there are no other public schools in Riverside County that have received an elementary waiver.

I will continue to keep you updated regarding the reopening of schools. As always, feel free to reach out to your child's teacher or to me at or 951-294-6355 if you have any questions.

Thank you for everything you are doing on a daily basis to support your child(ren) and our school.

Sincerely~JoeAnna Hernandez

Annual TVUSD Winter Holiday Card Competition - 2020

Each year, the Superintendent's office and Governing Board send out holiday cards to administrators in the district, surrounding districts, city officials, and local groups. Students submit works of art and then some are selected to have their art printed on the district's holiday cards.

If your student would like to participate, please have them use this sheet for the drawing submission. The winning student's drawing will be used as the cover of our holiday card and the student's name, grade and school will be included on the inside of the card.

This sheet must be used for the drawing submission. The list of rules are included on this form. The forms can be mailed directly to:

Debra Jilek
Holiday Card Competition
31350 Rancho Vista Road
Temecula, CA 92592

All submissions are due by November 13, 2020. Parents will be notified if their student's drawing is selected. The winning students will be invited to the December 15th Board meeting where they will be presented with their card.
