#13 Covid19 Notice
27 August 2021 - Staying in L4 until Tuesday 31st
Dear Parents, Whānau and Caregivers
Thanks for your messages of support this week as together we embarked on our latest learning at home adventure. It's been great to see all the different learning being shared on SeeSaw that our tamariki are taking part in. Thank you for all the ways you are helping your child with their learning at home. We appreciate that many parents are also juggling working from home and caring for younger or older siblings too.
I will be contacting parents early next week who indicated through the survey that their child will require supervision at school during Alert Level 3. The survey has closed so please email principal@paparangi.school.nz directly to make a change to the information you provided. There will be very limited staffing available at school during Level 3, so school is only open for students who really need to be there.
What are our plans?
Changes in Alert Levels
Our conditions may change once the MOH release updated guidelines for schools. The timeline may also be revised once MOE provide further information about opening under Level 3.
Learning at Home
Learning at Home programmes will continue next week. Teams will be in contact by email with more information. Daily online hui will take place as well as lots of ideas for learning that doesn't require a device.
Look out for videos of Mrs Fui singing our school song. Teachers will share them with you. Grab your ukulele and join in the fun!
Here's a idea from our friends at Pause, Breathe, Smile! PBS is a mindfulness programme for kids. Most of our staff have attended their training workshops and use PBS in their classrooms. PBS are offering tips and ideas for families - go to their website for more information - https://pausebreathesmile.nz/free-resources/.
Home and School News
Thank you to the parents and teachers who helped and attended the discos held on the 13th! Weren't we lucky to have them after being postponed in June and before lockdown started!
- Thank you to William Yip and his team for their sponsorship of Jessie the DJ.
- Thank you to Harmen from Dominos Pizza in Johnsonville for the pizzas.
- Thanks to Mark Ave Fish and Chips for cooking all our hot chips!
