Be Prepared.... Think Ahead

Holiday Helping Hands
Dear Families,
This year to help promote goodwill and helping others, our Student Council has decided to sponsor a canned food drive. We are asking for our students to help by bringing in the items on the attached bingo sheet. You may donate as many items as you want. These items will go to help families in need in our community. We ask that you check the expiration dates on the food before sending it in. Please just donate the items that are on this list.
There will be a reward for the class that donates the most items. The winning class will get Quack Daddy donuts from the student council.
We will run this drive from Monday, November 26th until Friday, December 7th. Student Council will be packing food boxes for the families on Monday, December 12th.
Thank you for donating to help our families at PESP,
Pendleton Elementary Primary Student Council

School Counselor's Corner
Parents,
Our Project Care focus this week was on the Character Trait Caring. When students show care and concern for others it shows that they appreciate, value, and recognize them as a person. Every student in school deserves to be treated with care.
At school there are many different ways for students to show each other that they care. Some very simple ways for them to start are to:
1. Make it a point to say “thank you” to others
2. If they do make a mistake or do something that hurts someone’s feelings, do apologize or say, “I’m sorry for hurting your feelings”.
3. Go out of their way to include others.
I specifically challenged students to go out of their way and make it a point to include new people in their play this week? When we show care for others, it makes people feel accepted. Doesn’t everyone deserve to feel accepted, happy, and safe at school?
If you can, please follow-up with this message at home and ask them the following questions
How can you recognize someone who doesn’t feel like others want to play with them?
What can you do to help the situation?
Until next week………
