Keep Students Home if They are Sick
If your child has ANY symptoms (stuffy/runny nose, headache, fever, aches, diarrhea, fatigue, etc), please keep them home until they are symptom free. Also, if your child has taken a Covid test, you CANNOT send them to school until you receive a negative result from the doctor.
If your children do have any symptoms, please call the attendance line as soon as you can in the morning so we can properly document this. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Pinney at apinney@scsmustangs.org.
Orchestra and Band Student of the Month
Band Student of the Month
Alena - Clarinet
Alena does a fantastic job in band class. She comes prepared to lessons every week and is sounding great on her clarinet. She has a positive attitude and is a leader in the class. Congratulations to Alena!
Orchestra Student of the Month
Hailey - Cello
Hailey is an awesome cellist! Hailey gives her best effort every Orchestra practice. She is sounding amazing and practices a lot at home! Her positivity and dedication adds so much to our team. Keep up the great work Hailey!
Masks
MASKS - Please put 1-2 extra masks in your child(ren) backpack in case they forget them or they break during the day. Also, be sure students begin their day wearing a mask as we have quite a few children entering the building in the morning without a mask. IF STUDENTS REPEATEDLY COME WITHOUT A MASK, WE WILL CALL YOU TO BRING ONE UP FOR THEM. We cannot keep supplying students with masks.
Letter Sent Home on Friday
It is with mixed emotions that I write to you today. I am being recommended to serve the district in a new capacity as the Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum, pending board approval on Tuesday evening. Starting in August, this newly created position will support the curricular work being done at the elementary level.
My true passion is to foster a love of learning for our students through academic and social-emotional learning and growth. During my time at Chapman, I have focused my efforts on encouraging our students to be engaged in their own learning and emotional well-being. The good news with this new position is I will still be able to visit and support Chapman, but in a different role.
I have truly enjoyed my time as the Chapman principal and look forward to our continued work together throughout the remainder of the school year. I have grown exponentially as an educator because of our students, staff and families. I value the connections I have made and genuinely appreciate your support and partnership over the last three years. I will continue to foster that love of learning for your children as I embark on this new journey.
In the near future, Dr. Ryba will be sharing the next steps in finding the next principal for Chapman Elementary.
Sincerely,
Amy Pinney
