Parent Input for 2023-24 School Year
In addition, we look to shuffle classes from one grade to the next to assure that students continually have an opportunity to work with new students. Central Emerson teachers will review each class list thoroughly and will carefully consider how students work together and we will make adjustments to the class lists.
As we start the student placement process, we welcome parent input into this process. If there are specific needs or past history that should be considered and may contribute to the success of your student, we want to consider that information in the placement process. Our goal is to create the most balanced classes as possible while meeting student needs and will take all input into consideration. Please send your input to samuel.hanson@sno.wednet.edu or alice.dailey@sno.wednet.edu no later than Friday, May 5.

7th grade Tdap booster shot requirement
All students entering 7th grade must have a Tdap shot before they can start school in September 2023.
For students in 7th grade, the Tdap vaccine must be given at or after age 10 to be accepted for school entry. If your child is in 6th grade and already received this booster, their immunizations are complete. The middle school nurse may need medical verification when this vaccine was given. If your child receives this booster over the summer, please bring the record to the nurse at registration in August 2023. It is good to keep a copy of immunizations for your records.
Please note, the Tdap shot is different from the Td shot. If your child receives the Td shot, that vaccination is not in compliance with Washington immunization requirements, and they will need to receive the Tdap shot, as well, before the first day of school.
Please remember, these immunizations are required by Washington state law for school attendance.
Information about HPV and Meningococcal Disease
The Washington State Legislature requires us to annually make information available to you about and human papillomavirus (HPV) and meningococcal disease. Know the facts about these diseases and the vaccines available to protect your child.
