Great start to the year.
We are in full swing and gearing up for our first big event, Fall Harvest Carnival. This year the carnival will be on Friday Night, October 27, 6pm to 9pm. As always, our PTO is already making great plans for the event. Even though it is not officially Halloween, everyone is welcome to dress up. On Halloween, the Boys and Girls Club, Kasilof Public Library, and Eagles will be hosting the "Trunk or Treat" event, 6pm-8pm.
I hope to see you all here.

Red Ribbon Week October 23-25
Each year we ask the 6th graders to lead a sort of "spirit" week around the theme of "Saying No to Drugs."
This year, for the week of October 23-25 (short week due to Parent/Teacher conferences) we have the following themes:
Monday Drugs are Old School dress up as someone from your favorite decade (50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s)
Tuesday – Ties and Tiaras Looking good and I’m drug free (Dress your best day)
Wednesday Team up against drugs-- Sports Day
We encourage students to participate but also advise them to not let the "dress up" be distracting to our educational environment. So let's have fun, learn, and stay drug free!
From the Boys and Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Club Sweet Shoppe Bake Stand will be open:
Tuesdays BEFORE school for 4th-6th graders. Hot chocolate w/marshmallows. $1 per cup / No food items sold in the mornings.
Tuesday AFTER school 3:00-5:30pm for everyone. Coffee / Hot Chocolate and baked goods.
The Boys & Girls Club is currently serving 40-45 kids each day with a full supper meal and after school activities until 6:00pm. The cost to families is just $125 per year (approximately seventy-eight cents per day). Our annual budget is funded by donations and grants. Like many non-profits in the area, our funding is being cut at many angles. Please think of us when you have an extra few dollars to donate to a worthy cause.
We also always appreciate donations of baking ingredients such as: Flour, sugar, butter & eggs. The kids enjoy baking and the small revenue stream the bake stand creates benefits our Kasilof Club.
