Adhesion
By Michelle M and Tessie B-H
Adhesion: What is it?
The clinging of one substance to another; water's attraction to other substances.
The attraction of Hydrogen [atoms in water]'s positive charge to the negative charge of other substances.
Why is Adhesion Important?
The property of adhesion is crucial to the process of plants getting hydration through Xylem and Phloem, along with many other life processes.
Water's Structure During Adhesion
Example
When a statically charged balloon (or any charged object) is held next to a steady stream of water, the water is attracted to the pipe and swerves towards the balloon.
