Weekly Memo for Parents/Guardians

Week of March 30-April 3

Kicking Off Distance Learning

We are ready to officially start distance learning on Monday, March 30! This first week will be a learning week for all of us. We will just be focusing on reading and math. We will add in social studies and science the following week. Please reach out to your child's teacher or me if you have any questions or concerns!

Distance Learning

Remember, we are a team learning together during this process! If you need any help, please reach out and ask! Please make sure your child is able to log into his/her Chromebook and access Google Classrooms. The teachers have been working hard to set up everything in there for you. The teachers also have set up a system to check in with you daily and to take attendance. We appreciate your support as we kick off this week!

Trial Run!

Please log into your Chromebook (or personal device) and sign into the portal. Once in, make sure your child(ren) can access Google Classroom. Please let me know this weekend if you are having trouble. We want to fix your issues over the weekend, so Monday is smoother!

Daily Schedule

We recognize that many of you are currently working. Please do not stress about following the district's sample schedule. You can check in with your child's teacher when you are off work and available. Let me know if you have questions or concerns!

In an effort to keep things as routine as possible, I will continue posting daily announcements. The YouTube channel is: I will also post the announcements to Facebook. Students will continue to hear birthdays and other shout outs that we do daily. Please encourage your child to watch the announcements with me and continue their school routine.

we are having a virtual spirit week!

Just Keep Reading!

We want to make sure our students have access to FREE online books and stories! You can find thousands of AR read alouds on YouTube. Just search for AR read alouds. I attached a link below to one of my favorites. It's called Grammy's Book Nook. She has set up dozens of playlists with multiple books your child can listen to and read.

This link will take you to a website where astronauts read stories in space!!!

Your child's teacher should have shared information with you to access Epic. Here is the website:

This website has famous actors reading children's stories.

~~Don't forget to take AR tests so you can earn points!

Lunch for Our Students

We want ALL children to eat lunch this week! These routes begin Monday, March 30. You will see locations and times for each stop. Find the stop that is closest to your home and you will wait there for the bus. The buses will stop and feed all students at each location then leave for the next stop. PLEASE be on time as the buses are scheduled and cannot wait.

You will notice that bus 6 is scheduled to stop at SES at 10:40 am. If you choose to come to our school for that bus, please enter our bus circle. You will go to the left and stay on the inside lane. We will open the gate at 10:15 am for families to start lining up. We will have staff there helping to direct you! The bus will use the outer lane of the bus circle. Once it arrives, it will quickly deliver meals to each family. We will direct you to drive away then the bus will continue its route. We will be there to help!

Thank you so much to our Food Service and Transportation Departments for working hard to ensure our students are fed!

As of now, we are still set to receive the items from the recent fundraiser. Once we receive a date, we will let you know!

We soar together!

I will be on campus during this period of distance learning. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. We are going to miss seeing the children everyday, but look forward to communicating with you through social media, texting and email.
