A Message from Mrs. Thompson
Good afternoon,
We had a wonderful week at Bush! Next week is Kindness Week, and we are looking forward to collecting non-perishable foods for Mathew's Food drive and helping our community families in need. I hope you all have a safe and fun Super Bowl weekend, and I look forward to seeing our Bobcats on Monday.
Don't forget today is the last day to buy a yearbook! See the PTO flyer below.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Thompson
Congratulations to these Wonderful Teachers

A Message from our Counselor Mrs. McGhee
We are celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week next week! Students will be encouraged to perform random acts of kindness to brighten their school and community. Kindness is the theme for our counseling lesson this month and students are learning there are many different ways they can show kindness.
Our school will be spreading kindness in our community by participating in Matthew’s Birthday Wish Food Drive, which benefits food insecure CISD students. We will be collecting non-perishable food items to support Matthew’s effort to end hunger. You may send non-perishable food items with your student during the week of February 14th -17th. Click here to learn more about Matthew Reel and his commitment to serving our community.
Thank you,
Mrs. Angie McGhee

Bush Drop-Off Table
Lost & Found
All Lost and Found items are located in the front office area. Please encourage your children to take a look if they are missing any items. Please remember to label all items clearly with your child’s name. Also don’t forget to label water bottles, backpacks, and any other personal items. All items not claimed by spring break (March 11th) will be donated.

Volunteers Needed
We are in need of volunteers to assist with our morning Car Line and Moveable Minutes. Carline is from 7:30-8:00 and you can simply report to the front ramp and assist. For Moveable Minutes, each morning, between 7:30-8:10, students of a particular grade are able to have some extra morning activity before school begins while their teachers meet as a team. You can assist with any grade level, but if you are interested in attending when your student is participating.
Spring Carline & Moveable Minutes
Art needs helpers to make paper clay and paper mache paste for students. Below is the link for the sign up genius. Please look to see the available slots and click on the button to sign up.
The Library could use some help shelving books. For right now, it is only during 11:40am-12:40pm, while students are not in the library, but your help would so very much appreciated. If you are able to help, please check out the signup genius below.
Attendance Information
To report an absence for your child, do one of the following:
- Call the front office at 936-709-1600 and leave a message stating your child’s name, reason for the absence, person reporting the absence, and a phone number.
- Email the registrar Mrs. Marney Roberts-Nield – mrobertsnield@conroeisd.net with your student’s absence information. When your child returns to school, a note explaining the absence should be brought to their teacher, front office, or the attendance office.
“Excused” or “Unexcused” Absence - What is the difference?
If your child is not in attendance in the building at 9:00am, the student is considered “absent”. There are two types of absences:
Excused Absence: an absence is considered "excused" when there is prior parental notification (phone call or email) explaining the absence, or a note from a parent or medical professional upon return to school. Absences can be excused if they are related to illness, medical appointment, a death in the family, or other health related reasons. An excused absence does not remove the absence from the student’s record, but it does document that a student is absent for an excusable reason
Unexcused Absence: an absence is considered “unexcused” when there is no prior parental notification, no note or email sent upon return explaining the absence, for family travel/vacation, or other absences not recognized as "excused" by the district or state.
Keep your Child's Information Current
If any of your phone numbers, email addresses or physical address has changed since the start of school, please contact the registrar, Mrs. Marney Roberts-Nield – mrobertsnield@conroeisd.net. An address change will need to have a Proof of Residency such as a utility bill (gas, water, electric); lease of buyer's agreement/contract.

Can Your Business Help?
We are so excited to be planning our Bobcat Bonanza to be held April 22nd (with a rain date of April 29th). This community event serves as our spring fundraiser which includes a BBQ or Pizza dinner, games, inflatables, a DJ, children's raffle, and our silent auction! This silent auction serves as a fun event for parents as well as a great way to earn money for some of our school programs.
If you have a business, you own or work for and would like to donate an item for our silent auction, we would love to represent your business on our silent auction table. In turn, if you would prefer to simply as a sponsor of the event, we would still recognize your business! Attached is our Donation/Sponsorship letter which shows our different levels of sponsorship and what kind of advertising we will offer in return to help promote your business.
Also, families are always welcome to donate auction items as well if interested.
This is in no way meant to feel like an obligation. We just wanted to share the invitation in case anyone is interested. Please reach out to Caitlin Reeves at president@bushpto.com if you have any questions.
Thank you!
