News and Notes

Dear Parents,

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating Mother's Day with your families. Thank you to the Clark family for representing the 2nd grade in the May Crowning on Sunday. It was beautiful! The Mother's Day Mass is posted on the Transfiguration Church website. Please see below for an important enrollment reminder and a community project announcement.

I know that all of us have been forever changed by this pandemic. If your family is suffering financially from job loss or shortened work hours and are struggling to meet your household’s needs; please do not hesitate to reach out to me.Tuition assistance is available. I also may be able to direct you to other resources available through the Archdiocese.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!

Ms. Kazan

Enrollment Deadline- June 1st

Each day, as I work through its unprecedented challenges, I am reminded, in a myriad of ways, of the sacrifices you are making to provide a Catholic education for your children. I am so grateful to you – and to our students – for the energy, faithfulness, determination and love that you are bringing to this enterprise. I hear daily from our teachers; “This school is our family!” It is your spirit that makes this statement true; your partnership that makes this school and parish a community and truly #TransfigStrong.

As we adjust our plans to meet the new educational needs of our school and students, it is more critical than ever that we have accurate reenrollment numbers. Although in many ways we feel paused, planning for next year is not. Our book orders for the public schools are due shortly, transportation request deadline is coming up and I am in full planning mode. If you have not already done so, please register your children for the upcoming 2020-21 school year as soon as possible. If you apply before the deadline of June 1st, you will save $100 on the registration fee for each child.

In these difficult days, I have been more heartened than I can say by your actions, your spirit, your commitment and your partnership. In all of it, I see the tremendous love you have for your children. Know that we love them, too. I thank you again for the gift of partnering with you in shaping their future and I am so looking forward to the 20-21 school year.

#TransfigStrong Community Project

While we are unable to gather in-person we wanted to find a fun way help our students feel connected to one another and to show our community we are #TransfigStrong. To help us do this we will be placing a large wooden heart in the front of the school on Friday, May 15th and we ask that students help us decorate it.

What we are asking:

  • Students are invited to come to the school at any time convenient for their families and paint a heart and sign their name.
  • Families will need to bring their own paint or markers
  • We ask that you only decorate a 5" x 5" size space per student to ensure there is room for all students
  • Be creative and have fun!

Social Distancing Guidelines:
  • It is imperative that you adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear a mask
  • If someone is decorating the heart when you arrive please keep a safe six feet distance
  • Please be considerate of timing if someone is waiting
  • Do not share any paint or markers with others
  • Bring wipes to wash your hands

We can't wait to see your creativity and spirit in this project. Help us share this initiative with your friends by posting a picture on social media and using the #TransfigStrong on your posts. Thank you to Mrs. Plunkett and Mr. Romagnoli for spearheading this project.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Teacher Appreciation Video

Thank you so much to everybody who sent me videos and pictures. Some pictures were sent after the video had been created. They did not make the video but were sent to the teacher. I loved each and every one of them and it made me miss my students even more than I already do. I have attached the video I created below for you to see. The teachers loved it!
