Sister Act Recognized for Iowa High School Music Theater Awards
The Iowa High School Music Theater announced the Clear Creek Amana Spring Production of “Sister Act” has been recognized for four awards:
Award #1 - Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role - Lily Schloss as “Mary Robert”
Lily has been invited to perform a portion of her solo at the showcase. She also qualified to participate in the 2022 Triple Threat program where she will have the opportunity to audition for multiple competitive opportunities to take her skills even further. The judges said “your vocals are outstanding and you gave an astounding performance as Mary Robert.”
Award #2 - Production Award for Distinguished Scene- “Raise Your Voice”
The judges said “the nuns singing warranted an Advanced ranking for their exceptional singing, beautiful harmonies and tremendous range. We could hear you sing all day. Also Teagen Bollers was excellent in this song as Deloris.”
Award #3 - Special Recognition for Performance in a Principal Role - Natalie Stewart as “Mother Superior”. The judges said “you sing with great expression and your diction is superb. We were impressed with your portrayal of age and your monologue was incredible.”
Award #4 - Special Recognition for Performance in a Principal Role - Alyssa Vance as “Mary Patrick”. The judges said “your facial expression and voice were simply infectious! We loved your high performance energy and could tell right away who your character was.”
The judges really LOVED the show! Many positive comments to all the cast members. Lots of “wow” moments! I am SO PROUD of our students for an outstanding production and grateful for the opportunity to get to work with them!
The IHSMTA Showcase will be June 18 at 7:00pm at the Des Moines Civic Center. These students will be performing at the showcase: Lily Schloss, Natalie Stewart and Teagen Bollers. Tickets go on sale May 20. The showcase will be live-streamed at Iptv.org as part of a collaboration with Iowa Public Television. IPTV will air highlights later this summer. CCA Senior Awards Recognition Day
The Senior Awards Recognition was today at the High School Performing Arts Center. The Class of 2022 Seniors were awarded over 144 awards/scholarships. Thank you to the Clear Creek Amana Schools Foundation for working with donors and organizations to provide many scholarship opportunities for CCA students.
ENROLLMENT CHANGES FOR 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR
We don't want to see any student or family leave CCA but if your student(s) are not planning to attend Clear Creek Amana for the 2022-2023 school year, please contact your school building secretary to notify them if your student is not returning.
