Poetry Contest
Our school has been chosen to be part in a National Schools Project designed to share our youth's talents with others, supply a national audience for student writing, and provide a publishing opportunity for young poets. Students that want to participate can ask their teachers for the guidelines.
High Interest Day
Volunteers Needed!
We are looking forward to High Interest Day at Horizon School on June 5. High Interest Day is a day for students to actively engage in a wide variety of learning opportunities that they choose. This event will also provide students with the privilege of building community partnerships and giving back to others during a hands-on service project. We are looking for parents, family members, friends, community members that are interested in leading a session or volunteering during the day. Some examples of courses include Quesadilla cooking, cookie decorating, henna, golf, Fairy Houses, etc. If you have an interest or idea you'd like to share with our students, please sign up. Please complete the form today!

Math
We wrapped up Unit 3 with our final assessment. Students will use time next week to finish these tests. Please look for these assessments in their folders next Friday. The report cards will reflect these scores.
Social Studies
Next week students will participate in a tug-of-war simulation which will mimic the struggle that the Continental army faced as they battled Great Britain. Through this simulation students will identify specific ways the underdog Continental army defeated Great Britain.
We will be taking our final assessment on Lessons 10-13 next week. Students can use any notes they write on their study guide. They received a study guide this week, but here is a digital study guide as well.
