School Store
School Store Volunteers Needed
The store will run the same as last year - each Thursday it will rotate to a different location where only certain grades are allowed to shop in efforts to ease foot traffic and allow kiddos plenty of time to shop. Working time is roughly 2:15-3:00pm. We will meet for set up in the supply room, located down the hall from lost and found. If you have any questions please contact Renae Hill at renaeh16@hotmail.com.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is just around the corner ... May 1-5
History
The origins of National Teacher Day are murky. Around 1944, Arkansas teacher Mattye Whyte Woodridge began corresponding with political and education leaders about the need for a national day to honor teachers. Woodbridge wrote to Eleanor Roosevelt, who in 1953 persuaded the 81st Congress to proclaim a National Teacher Day. The National Education Association (NEA) and its affiliates continued to observe National Teacher Day on the first Tuesday in March until 1985, when the National PTA established Teacher Appreciation Week as the first full week of May. The NEA Representative Assembly then voted to make the Tuesday of that week National Teacher Day. Celebrated on the Tuesday of the first full week of May, the actual date varies each year. This year National Teacher Day is May 4th.
* The Chief Charlo PTO asks that you encourage your child to show their appreciation to their teacher(s), lunch staff, or even their bus driver by making them a card, writing them a letter, drawing them a picture or making some other fun creation. We have the BEST staff her at Chief Charlo. Let's show them how much we have appreciated them for all they have done for our children over this past year!! *

Families in Transition (FIT) Program
The Families in Transition (FIT) Program is here to assist Chief Charlo students and families experiencing housing instability (McKinney-Vento Act) and/or economic hardship. FIT works as a bridge between those families, our school and the district staff to empower students to stay in school and remain successful both in school and as lifelong learners. FIT also provides families access to community resources and services.
FIT is here to support your family, because we care about all of our Wolves - BIG and small!!
