Math
I'm proud of the hard work and focus students put forth as they took the Math MAP test this week. Next week students will set goals based on their scores and identify specific areas that they will focus on to achieve those goals.
Our study of fraction centered around identifying common denominators to add and subtract fractions/mixed numbers. To review this concept, the students played math basketball.
If your child is struggling with math homework, please have them take a moment to look at our math videos on our webpage. Mrs. Kingsley and I worked on recording videos that students can use as a resource, as they navigate through fractions this unit.
BizTown
Finally, students received a 'paycheck' and determined the amount of money that would go towards taxes. This lesson taught students that taxes are paid by citizens to provide public goods for a community, such as libraries, schools, etc.
After our BizTown field trip, students will be assessed on the content that was covered in class. Here is a link to the study guide to help students prepare.
