Run Big!

Dear Parents -

We are thrilled to announce the return of Run BIG! this year. A long standing tradition in the community that has been put on hold for the past few years due to the pandemic, Run BIG! is the culmination and celebration of a month long fundraising effort by the St Helena Public Schools Foundation and the Parent Teacher Groups to raise funds to enhance the education of our public school students in the area of arts and sciences. Give BIG! does so much for our schools and the kids get to Run BIG! to celebrate. More information specific to Run BIG! will be communicated but for now we are asking for parent volunteers to help during the event on Friday, March 31 f

rom 10:15am to 12:15pm. Please see below for a link to sign up and help volunteer.

And don’t forget to donate to Give BIG! as well. Donate now through March 24th to support our schools! http://www.givebigsthelena.org

On Friday, March 31st, all 1st and 2nd graders will be running to the Elementary school for an all-district rally. We plan on leaving SHPS at 11:15am. TK and Kinder students will enjoy running at SHPS and cheering on the older students as they start their run. 1st and 2nd graders will be dismissed from the Elementary School to the Boys and Girls Club, and those getting picked up by parents will have a designated spot for pick up. All B & G Club students will eat lunch at the Elementary school. All students will be dismissed from the Elementary school at 12:15pm. TK/K students will be dismissed from SHPS at 12:15pm.

TK/Kindergarten Registration

Starting February 13th, we will be accepting application packets for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten for the 23.24 school year. You can access the pre-registration packet on our school website or come into the office for a paper packet.

We ask that all registration packets be returned by April 28th.

Children turning five between September 2, 2023 - April 2, 2024, are eligible for TK.

Any child turning five on or before September 1, 2023, is eligible for Kindergarten. We also invite you to attend a Parent Information Night on Wednesday, March 22nd at 6pm in the Barn. We'll also be holding Campus Tours on Friday, February 24th at 3:15pm and on Tuesday, March 21st at 4pm. Please call the office to register for a tour, 967-2772.

Current COVID Protocol

If your child tests positive for COVID-19...

  • They need to stay home for at least 5 days.
  • Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or the day a positive test was performed, whichever comes first.
  • After day 5 you can retest every day. Your student may return once they are negative (we will need a photo of neg test before returning). If you decided not to test, the student/staff can return after 10 days.
  • Any student who has had a fever must be fever free for at least 24 hrs with improving symptoms. They can return to school if this is the case.

Collecting Toys for Día del Niño

If your house is anything like mine, you could probably collect 10-15 small toys that your children would never know were gone! We are collecting used, resuable small toys for our Day of the Chlid celebration in April. Lego sets, small stuffies, Happy Meal type toys, pencils, erasers, you name it! If your child once liked it, then others will too. Let's celebrate Earth Day as well as Day of the Child by rounding up small trinkets that can be passed on! Please send in your bag of goodies to your child's teacher or, if you'd like to be a little more sleuth, drop them off in the school office!
