From the Principal
We apologize we had to reschedule our Field Day of Awesomeness again. The rain messes up the playground area and makes it to where we are unable to place the inflatables due to the softness of the ground. We have rescheduled the event for Friday, May 24, 2019. Information is coming home in student folders today. In the event that we have to cancel again due to rain or your student is unable to attend and they received prizes from our fundraiser we will ensure all students earning them receive them. Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
Our End of Year Celebration is set for Thursday, May 30, 2019. Information regarding times and the opportunity to RSVP is in student folders today as well.
Starting next week, there are no longer lunch visitor days. This will help us transition to the end of the year and finish strong.
The CFISD Bond Election Day is Saturday, May 4, 2019. I hope you will get out and let your voice be heard. If you would like more information on the bond you can find it here https://www.cfisd.net/en/bond/bond-2019/voting-information/. Our goal is getting at least 100 voters out to vote from Hoover. Please help us reach our goal. If you vote, please email Hoover@cfisd.net to let us know.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend!

From the Clinic
If your child has medication in the school clinic, District policy requires that all medication must be picked up and signed out by an adult. Medication will not be sent home with your child. Please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication before the end of the school year.
Any medication not picked up by 3:00pm on Thursday May 30th, will be properly disposed of as medication cannot be stored over the summer break.
Your attention to the matter is appreciated. Please have a safe and healthy summer.

From the Hoover Library
Hello from the Hoover Library!
It has been a great year in the Library- here are a few highlights:
- Author visits for 1st and 2nd grade
- Mother Goose visited PK
- Cat In The Hat read to all our Kinder students
- Two Book Fairs
As we move into the last month of school, I want to remind all families that library books are to be returned by Friday, May 17th. This is the time of year, when I ask families to look everywhere, at home, for library books-even in unlikely places! (One year a student found a book in the FREEZER- yes!!).
Be watching, in your child’s report card for a Summer Reading List, Summer Mobile Library schedule and information from local businesses and public libraries about Summer Reading Incentives. It is so important to keep reading over the summer to prevent what is called “The Summer Slide”- reading 20 minutes a day will keep your child right on track!
I have loved working with your child and thank you for your support throughout the year. Have a great summer and remember: KEEP READING!

Message from Music!
Calling all 2nd Graders and their Families!
Our 2nd graders will be performing “We Are Wild About Music” on Tuesday, May 7th in the cafeteria of Hoover Elementary. This program will include singing, dancing, playing instruments, and more! Soon you will be receiving a reminder letter with more information, so please be looking for it. We can’t wait to show you just how very wild we are about music. We hope to see you there!
