Engaging learners with rigorous, authentic, lessons

June 13, 2016 - Teaching with Primary Sources Using the Workshop Model

Location and Time: FAAC Room A, 8:30 -3:30

During this experiential, fun day, Birdville ISD secondary social studies teachers will work with Sherry Owens, from s3strategies to learn strategies that empower students to discover the mysteries found in historical documents. You'll experience learner-centered lessons that relate to and engage students in analyzing complex materials including works of art, graphic representations, maps, and other primary and secondary sources.

You may have seen Sherry at TCSS last Fall, and if so, know just how great her workshops are. You'll leave with not only great strategies, but engaging lessons you can implement this Fall. Added benefit-These strategies and lessons meet our Tier 1 Priorities for social studies. Come join the learning!
