6th Grade Advanced Math
Hello! It was good to be back with the students week! It seems like they are all having a fabulous year so far! Since it was my first week back from leave, we did some "get to know you" activities, along with some team building. The remainder of the week the students worked in stations to review for the unit 1 math test. The students started their unit 1 test today, but will complete it when they return to class on Monday. We will spend the remainder of the week going over problems on the test that caused the students difficulty. The students will also work on creating a SMART goal for the school year.

The students and I had a great week! It was good to see the fourth graders again, and meet my third grade students! We spent the majority of the week going over classroom rules and procedures and participating in some class building exercises. Today the students brainstormed what they have learned so far this year about their yearlong theme on perspectives. They were paired up to create a representation of their learning using different materials, such as pipe cleaners, mega blocks, straws, play doh, and much more! The students will finish their creations on Monday and share them with the class. Furthermore, the students will be introduced to SMART goals, and analyze the goal they created at the beginning of the school year.
