CT RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO AVOID TRAVEL TO AFFECTED STATES OR COUNTRIES
Effective at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020, the revised Connecticut COVID-19 Travel Advisory will:
Apply to all travelers – both foreign and domestic – entering Connecticut from any location, except for the neighboring states of New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island.
Require all affected travelers to complete the Connecticut Travel Health Form (available at ct.gov/travelform) and self-quarantine for a period of 10 days or until a negative COVID-19 test result.
There will be three exemptions from the requirement to self-quarantine:
Testing alternative exemption: Applicable to any affected traveler who has had a negative test for COVID-19 in the 72 hours (3 days) prior to their arrival in Connecticut, or subsequent to their arrival in Connecticut, and had submitted such negative test result to the commissioner of the Department of Public Health. This can be either a PCR test or a rapid antigen test.
Essential worker exemption: Applicable to essential workers traveling for work-related purposes.
Tested positive for COVID-19 exemption: Applicable to an affected traveler who has tested positive for COVID-19 within 90 days prior to his or her arrival in Connecticut and has clinically recovered, or has not been symptomatic for a period of 10 days since symptom onset or such positive test if not symptomatic, and has submitted such test result to the commissioner of the Department of Public Health.
The requirement to self-quarantine and complete the Travel Health Form is applicable to any traveler who has spent 24 hours or longer in an Affected State or an Affected Country within 10 days prior to arriving in Connecticut. It does not include an individual remaining in Connecticut for less than 24 hours. These requirements are also applicable to Connecticut residents who are returning from a visit to an Affected State or an Affected Country. If you spend less than 24 hours in an affected state or country, you do not need to quarantine. If you spend 24 hours or longer in the affected state, you must self-quarantine when you arrive in Connecticut.
If you are going to travel to an affected state or country and stay for less than 72 hours,
you cannot test in CT before you go. You must test while you are in the affected locale,
as long as it is obtained in the 72 hours prior to your return to CT, or following your arrival back in CT. You must remain in quarantine until the negative test result is back and submitted to the Commissioner.
*failure to submit this travel health form may result in a civil penalty of $500 for each violation or possible imprisonment.
*failure to quarantine may result in a civil penalty of $500 for each violation or
possible imprisonment.

LIFETOUCH PHOTOS
Dear RES Families:
Lifetouch photos are ready for pickup at RES. Photos can be picked up Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. On Wednesday, December 23, the vestibule will close at 12:30pm for any student material pick-ups.
Parents are asked to come to the main entrance vestibule, ring the bell at the window and a staff member will come to the window and hand you your child's photos.
Unfortunately, some of the class photo composites are incorrect. Lifetouch is reprinting these and they will be distributed to students upon our return in January.
Feel free to email me at rsaluzzi@er9.org if you have any questions.
Thank you, Rachel Saluzzi

Zoom Troubleshooting
Some of our students are signing into a Zoom session and are being directed to the class they previously attended that day. To fix this issue, students should get into the habit of clicking the LEAVE button at the end of each class. Our teachers will also click the END MEETING FOR ALL button to help us work through this common issue. For additional support, please reach out to Pattianne Nordt, our Technology Assistant (pnordt@er9.org), or Rebecca Richards, our Science, Technology Integration Coordinator (rrichards@er9.org).

Important Reminders
Arrival & Dismissal
Parents/Guardians who are dropping off students in the morning, or picking up students in the afternoon are asked to remain in their vehicles during this process. We will have staff on hand ready to support during these transition times. If you are dropping off your child in the morning please be sure their mask is on and backpack is ready BEFORE you pull up to the drop off location, so that we can quickly and safely transition kids out of vehicles and into the building.
RES Visitors
Due to the current health and safety precautions in place, we are limiting visitors in our building to essential business only. If you need to come to the school to pick up your child, please be sure you have a government issued ID on you for entry each and every time. Even if we recognize you, we will ask for your ID. This is our policy.
Traffic Safety
Please be reminded to follow all traffic rules while driving in our parking lots and around RES, including stopping at stop signs and adhering to the speed limit. Cars may not travel into the bus loop during arrival and dismissal.School Dismissal Manager
If there are changes to your child's dismissal plans, remember to log in to School Dismissal Manager to update with the new plans. A reminder that 'bus' is the default for all students. Distribution of a student pick up number tag, or the data from the summer survey does not automatically inform us that your child is a pick up.
