Our Guidance Department STILL needs Tootsie Roll Lollipops. Please send to office.
Our board is needing GREAT donations for the silent auction to take place on December 3rd during the Frosty Festival. Please reach out to Chelsea Mercer ( 931 267 6980 ) and/or Laura Ann Pierce ( 423 470 1318 ) if you have a business willing to donate. This will be a new endeavor for your Wildcats and we are excited to have community participation.
We need ALL hands on deck to give back to our teachers and staff ALL that they give our students. We are excited at our GSIA growth this year and know that there's only good things ahead!!
Congratulations to the GHS Band
The GHS band competed in the Division II State Marching Band Competition in Smyrna, TN on Nov 5. They performed against 18 other bands in the preliminary round and made it in the top 10 to proceed to finals. In the final’s round, they came earned the following titles:
Band: 8th in the state
Color Guard: 6th in the state
Percussion: 7th in the state
Drum Majors: 4th in the state
EV is proud of the former wildcats that are now performing in the band.
We are also proud of Ms. Sam Grissom, who helps lead the drum majors.
Turkey Trot - School with most participation win $500 (parents + kids count)
The GCSEF 8th Annual Turkey Trot 5K is set for Thanksgiving morning at 8am at GHS. We need your help sharing information about the event and encouraging participation! I have attached a flyer, registration form, and course map for the event. I have also included links to online registration, GCSEF website, and the Facebook event page.
Early registration ends on 11.11.22 and you must be registered by then to be guaranteed a race day shirt. The school with the highest percentage of participants will receive a $500 cash prize. If you have families that would like to volunteer for the event rather than run/walk, we would love to have them and your school will receive participation credit for volunteers as well.
New for this year: we now offer 2 categories of elementary school ages. PreK-2nd and 3rd-5th. This provides more opportunities for our youngest participants to receive a medal.
