KAES Keenections

KAES Sabbath
This Sabbath October 28 many of our KAES students will be participating at the Sunrise and Summit services at the Keene SDA Church. We invite all families who are available to attend and be blessed.
Red Ribbon Week
We had an exciting week celebrating healthy living by being drug free and not being part of bullying. We started the week with firefighters welcoming students to school and ended the week with the police department speaking at assembly about drugs and the effects of drugs. In between we had popsicles, candy, signed the pledge banner and had a lot of fun.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Thank you parents for meeting with us this past Monday. It was great to get a chance to talk with you about your child and how we can better meet their needs. If you have not met with your child's teacher, please take a moment and reach out to them for a time after school next week.
We "Donut" know what we would do without our pastors!
October is for Pastor Appreciation. So students took time drawing, coloring paper donuts with special messages and memories for our pastors. They were presented to the pastors this week along with some special gifts.
Home and School is selling drinks at Starfest.
Home and school is selling canned drinks and bottled water at Starfest this Tuesday. Please consider donating a box of soda or volunteering to man the sales booth for a short period of time Tuesday.
Keene Chamber of Commerce Awards KAES Teachers
Last night Mrs. Zabala, our 4th grade teacher in the elementary school, and Mrs. Kennedy, our language arts teacher in our junior high, were both honored with an Excellence in Teaching award for the Keene Chamber of Commerce. We are so proud of these teachers who work tirelessly to help our students find success in learning.
The Young Peacemaker - Week 8
Week 8
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Eph. 4:32)
(The big Idea) Forgiveness is a choice
(The main points)
A. Forgiveness is not…
For false ideas about forgiveness:
People need to feel like forgiving someone before they can really forgive.
Forgiveness means forgetting about what someone did that hurt you.
Forgiveness, excuses a person's sin.
Forgiveness depends on getting a guarantee that someone won’t do the same wrong thing again.
B. Forgiveness is. . .
God’s forgiveness is much different.
God forgives you completely
God forgives you immediately after a sincere confession.
God forgives you without asking for guarantees that you will never do the same wrong thing again.
The four promises of forgiveness are:
I promise I will think good thoughts about you and do good for you.
I promise I will not bring up this situation to use against you.
I promise I will not talk to others about what you did.
I promise I will be friends with you again.
C. Seeking and giving forgiveness
When you seek forgiveness, you are asking the person you send against to grant you the four promises of forgiveness.
If you were going to forgive someone else, you must choose to give the four promises of forgiveness to the one who hurt or offended you.
Forgiveness does not cancel consequences.
D. When to forgive?
Forgiveness is granted after there has been repentance and confession.
E. How to express forgiveness?
The wrong response to the question, “will you forgive me?“ Is “that’s okay.“
The right response to the question, “will you forgive me?“ Is “I forgive you.“
Granting forgiveness is an event. Carrying out forgiveness is a process that can take time.
F. Why forgive?
The reason we should forgive others is because God has forgiven us.
