Dear Graham Families,
We are closing out another week here at Graham Elementary, and moving towards the final week of the school year. It is a bittersweet time for all of us, but it has been great to see the participation in activities like field day, theme days, and family reading hours as we celebrate a unique school year!
I also want to note that with schools closed on Monday, May 31st for Memorial Day, this is a good time to reflect on those who gave their life to protect us. This year is additionally poignant given the sacrifices made by First Responders and their families in light of the pandemic, and the many lives lost that we continue to acknowledge and remember.
So please take this long weekend to enjoy one another's company, celebrate the last week of a resilient school year, and ring in the start of what we can hope to be a restorative and exciting summer.
Enjoy your weekend, and we'll see you back for our last week of school on Tuesday!
Ms. Walton
5th Grade Farewell - Rescheduled!
Dear Parents of 5th Graders,
With rain in the forecast both Thursday and Friday, we have made the decision to postpone the 5th Grade Farewell event until Tuesday, June 1st.
We realize this is late notice and apologize for the inconvenience. The plans have not changed, but if your availability has, we ask that you take a moment to update the SignUp Genius linked here.
Please plan to meet in the outdoor white tent by the playground at 11:30am with a blanket and special lunch. Upon arrival, you will check-in and be given your child’s commemorating gift from the Graham PTA. Students will meet you for a socially distanced lunch in the grass or blacktop from 11:45-12:20pm. Students will then have outdoor activities from 1:30-2:45pm and parents are welcome to volunteer using the link above. Masks are required.
Afternoon station volunteers should plan to either stay immediately after lunch to help set up or plan to meet behind the school by the tent 1:15-2:50pm to assist with stations.
Any questions, please contact StephanieMelone@gmail.com or kapinusm@yahoo.com.
5th Grade Clap Off
Next Friday June 4th, please join us to celebrate our graduating 5th graders with our annual clap off. If you would like to join us, parents and families are welcome to gather at the front of the building at 2:45pm, with the 5th graders parading around the building at 2:55pm.
Please do not park in the front parking lot due to bus pickup. We hope to see you there!
