The Lance
April 20-24
The mission of Lakeshore Middle School is to promote collaboration between educators, students, and families to foster engaged learners and active and compassionate
members of their community.
Reflections from Mr. Swegles
Point is, there isn't one schedule that works for everybody. What works for some is a problem for others. You have to do what works for your household. If your child is more apt to work in the evening as mentioned above, please, have your child give their assignment a read through to ensure that they can at least get their questions asked during the day and have that information to complete their assignments that night.
Thank you for the support you are providing all of our students. LMS appreciates you!

Student Check Ins
While there is flexibility and grace being offered, there is also value in the doing. Know that the check-ins come from a place of support and concern for your child's well-being and it is going to take a continued home-school partnership to continue to move us forward. Thank you for your support and understanding in advance.
PowerSchool

Mrs. Southard and Caring Cupboard
Thank you for your support of neighbors in need. Caring Cupboard continues to have food and human dignity items to share. If you know of families in need of additional support, we want to help.

The link above can be shared. If you know someone who doesn't use the internet, or who might need help using this online order form, feel free to open the link, call them on the phone, and place an order for them. The only change you need to make is to either use your email or enter their name and @noemail.com to tell me they will need a phone call rather than an email if we need to contact them. For example, johnsmith@noemail.com.
Caring Cupboard would appreciate your assistance reaching out to non-internet users. If you use your email, you will receive a pickup procedure and reminder notification, and you can call the person you signed up. You could be the one who ensures they can pick up the order or can arrange help to pick up the order.
FAQ:
- YES, orders can be picked up by someone other than the person receiving the food.
- Help can be given every two weeks.
- Orders are available for pick up on Thursdays from noon-2 PM at Woodland Shores Baptist Church in Bridgman on Shawnee Road, just across from Pebblewood Golf Course.
- YES, we can make arrangements for other pick up times on a limited basis. Email is preferred for making those arrangements.
- YES, you can come to the mobile pantry on May 6th if you get help from the pre-order pantry.
- YES, we do take donations. Online donations can be made at wsbchurch.com then go to the giving tab. Be sure to click the Caring Cupboard option if you wish to direct your donation to what the Caring Cupboard is doing.
- YES, we help anyone in our service area and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, and reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.
- NO, we do not deliver. In an effort to reduce the risk for all, we ask that people who may already be in contact with shut-ins do the delivery in order to reduce the number of people interacting with folks who may be most vulnerable.
f you have questions you can go to Caring Cupboard at Woodland Shores on Facebook. Dates for upcoming events and our top 10 need list can be found there.
Once again, thank you for all you are doing to support neighbors in need.

Attention 8th grade parents:
The students in the 8th grade Language Arts classes are creating a personal time capsule that will be delivered to them in May of their senior year. Would you like to surprise your child with a letter in the time capsule? Letters may be written by parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. The content of the letter is up to you, but the students will reflect on the following categories in their writing: me, my world, people in my life, my past, what I do, my future. You can mail your letter to Lakeshore Middle School with attention to Laura Veldman. Please be sure to include your student’s first and last name in the letter. This is an optional activity to enrich the project, but we know your child will appreciate reading your writing. The letter should be mailed to LMS by the time school starts next fall. Thank you for your cooperation in this project.
LPS Food Service
We will continue to provide meals at our 4 sites through the week of spring break. The vans will arrive at 11:30 and stay until 12:15.
One sack contains breakfast and lunch. We are happy to announce that on Fridays, there will be one additional meal provided for the weekend.
All children 18 and under can take a meal. Parents or children can pick them up. Please do not pick up if you are ill and remember to stay 6 feet apart.
Please call Pam Greiffendorf at 428-1400 x2965 or email pgreiffendorf@lpslancer.net with any questions.
Upcoming Dates and Events
We will be determining how best we can distribute the remaining locker contents to students. Please, be patient as we create that plan.
