Principal's Corner
I hope all of you had a chance to relax and spend time with family and friends and reflect on your purpose, passion, and pride. I know our students will be excited to see you after not being here for a week. We have four weeks before this semester is over and it will be here before you know it.
Coming back from a break is a perfect opportunity to do a circle activity. Even if you don't do a circle activity, please take the time to talk with your students about what they did over the break. Many of them have been waiting to get back to your class to share, because YOU listen to them. Many of them will be happy to get back to consistency (love, meals, rules). It is also a good time to review goals, expectations, and classroom rules.

Science
With just a few weeks left to complete the first semester, the pressure is on to get ready for our semester DCA’s. The Science team is working hard to support and prepare our students to do their best. Our sixth graders are working on properties and changes in matter. Our seventh graders are working on their plant unit and our eighth graders are completing their physics unit. Some students are working on adding the final additions to their science and engineering fair projects, and hoping to move on to competition in the spring. Our walls are looking great; there is a lot of quality student work that is proudly on display in the hallway. Overall, we are doing our best to keep the main thing, the main thing – student growth and success. We want all our students to be lifelong learners, with a greater understanding of science, and the curiosity and desire to learn more.
