June 21, 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We made it through the 2020-2021 school year together! While we experienced a year of ups and downs, our students persevered. I am truly blessed to work with such amazing students, teachers, and staff. Enjoy your summer and look for communication from me at the end of July with details for the upcoming 21-22 school year.
Also, welcome rising 6th-grade parents. All Raiders receive a weekly RRMS E-Newsletter to keep you informed of what is taking place on campus.
THANK YOU PTO FOR KONA ICE @ 8th Grade Celebration!
Student Ambassador/Beta Club Field Trip
This summer will be like none other – a little shorter but enjoyable nonetheless because our students have an amazing gift given to them by Rock Hill Schools – FREE BOOKS. We are so thrilled to be able to send our students into summer and next school year with some exceptional books:
But it does not end there. Here are a few ways all Raiders can see their reading rewards in the fall:
RHS incentive program – read your books; report to teachers in the fall; get more books!
RRMS Incentive – read your books; report to teachers in the fall; join the celebration. (Plan- Library Lock-in pending Covid protocols). Mrs. Andrus is pledging additional prizes. Eligibility will be determined in partnership with the York County Library and English Language arts teachers.
York County Library - sign up with the York County Library Tails & Tales Summer Learning Challenge. The challenge has children, teen, and adult categories so the whole family can get involved!!
Finally – the best reading reward is always finding more to read and showing off your love of reading in class through increased reading stamina, improved comprehension skills and growth on district and state assessments. We got this Raiders!

T-dap vaccine requirements
In accordance with South Carolina Code of Laws and State Regulation, a Tdap vaccine is now a requirement to attend 7th -12 grades. The Tdap vaccine is a booster that protects against three serious diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). If your child has had this immunization, please disregard. Documentation that your child has received the Tdap vaccine will need to be provided to the school. If your child still needs to get the immunization, you must get an appointment with your pediatrician or seek out a clinic to arrange for the immunization. If your child has not had the vaccine by the start of 2021-2022 school year, he/she will have 30 days to get the vaccine. After the 30th day, if your child still has not had the vaccine your child will not be permitted to attend school until the school receives documentation that the vaccine has be given.
You may make an appointment at the following places to get the required Tdap vaccine.
