Message from Dr. Ramirez
I hope you all enjoyed your first weekend of fall. This is one of my favorite times of the year! Sweater weather and the changing colors of leaves are imminent.
We will be taking yearbook and ID pictures for all students on Tuesday. Avoid wearing clothes that are green as green will interfere with the green screen. Senior portraits will be taken as well on this day. See below for more information.
We are ready to announce that CRHS Homecoming Week will be held from Oct. 18 - Oct. 22. Our student council is planning a variety of activities. Stay tuned!
Do you know how to check your grades? See the link below to watch a video on how to check from your ParentPortal. If you have any questions, please email josh.miller@orange.k12.nc.us
I have some disappointing news to share. Secondary schools in America are experiencing unique phenomena: Social Media challenges that include theft and vandalizing of school property. CRHS is not immune to this foolish trend. In the last few weeks, students have destroyed or stolen our soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, toilet paper, and have clogged toilets. Since this trend started, I have asked our students to report such activity to another adult or through the SaySomething App. We have caught a few students but the activity still continues. To stop this behavior we will be doing the following:
1. Students may only use the restrooms during passing periods or during lunch. Bathroom passes during class time will not be allowed until further notice.
2. Students caught vandalizing school bathrooms will be placed on out-of-school suspension for 5 days on their first offense. Further violations may result in school expulsion.
3. Staff may be in and out of the bathrooms during the passing periods to monitor.
The destruction of school property or vandalization will not be tolerated. I recognize the challenge the bathroom rule change will bring to some students, but we must stop this behavior. Your support is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ramirez

New 10th Grade Website: You can locate it by clicking here. It can also be found by going to the school's main website, clicking on "Counselors" on the left-hand side, then "Grade Level Information".
It's too late to change classes: per state policy, students cannot change classes at this time in the semester. Please do not send class change requests to your counselors.
There has been some confusion about the announcement in a recent mid-week about the ACT. Our first administration in October is a make-up for last year's 11th graders (about 40-50 of our current seniors) who did not take the ACT last year. Our current 11th graders will take the regular administration of the ACT in the Spring (which is the typical time). Thanks, and sorry for the confusion!
