These forms must be back to me by March 5th as names have to be submitted on March 9th to the district.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask!
Journals from Jocelyn
TELPAS:
2-5 teachers, you should have 3-4 writing samples by the end of this week. All writing collections are due by March 5. I will verify them during intersession. The crate will be in the Library begining Monday, March 1. Each student's collection of 5 samples should have a cover sheet. Please reach out if you have questions.
If you have a student that needs to use text - to - speech for their TELPAS, you could have them use this link: https://speechtotext.prod.caltesting.org/
When they are done, be sure to print the writing sample. All the normal rules apply for name and date. This is a great way for them to practice what it would look like for 4th grade STAAR writing with this accommodation.
Calibration 2:
Our date for Calibration 2 is Thursday March 4 from 4 - 6PM. If you did not pass the first calibration, you will need to complete the required support class prior to attempting the second Calibration. This flyer provides information to register for the training.
Jams from Jana!
Teachers, remember to allow your students time each week to log in to Prodigy at school. Studies show that time at school increases the time they will spend on the program at home. See below for a tournament that starts on March 1st and continues until March 30th!!!
Reianna shared a great resource with me called Teachermade.com. It is a great way to get work on Canvas that is graded automatically. Lots of uses for all subjects. There is a tutorial when you log in. It is FREE!
Prodigy Tournament! Starting March 1st-30th!
If a class correctly answers more math questions than other partnered schools, they win!
There are four weekly prizes and one grand prize. Students and teachers can win prizes by accurately answering as many questions as possible. Prizes include:
- Exclusive swag! (pencils, shirts, and more)
- Prodigy Memberships (one month, six month and yearly memberships for students)
- Amazon gift cards (for teachers)
This is a great opportunity to boost engagement across campus. Encourage teachers to participate in The Next Prodigy by directing them to the official The Next Prodigy website!
E-messages from Esther....
Good Morning,
I hope you are having a great day. I have created an MOY PSM Track sheet to help us manage our MOY PSM's. Please have all PSM's written and uploaded in the shared drive by March 5th. As previously discussed, all signed PSMs will be due on March 26th.
Please complete the following:
- Update the PSM Track sheet once you have uploaded your PSM's.
- Add a Parent/Teacher Email address for any students that you need the PSM emailed to for signatures.
- Print your PSM and send them home to all your F2F students. When they are returned, please put them in my box. I will update the PSM Track sheet once I have received them.
- I will email the PSM for your virtual students or F2F students as needed- but please make sure that you follow up with the parents so that they are looking for the email, I will update the Track sheet when I email the PSM's and when they are signed.
