Mr. Corso’s Principal’s Message
Positive Raiders: Responsible, Respectful, Hard Working and Kind
As PUSD elementary schools plan to return to campus in October, I want to update you on BMMS’s plan. At this point in time, we have plans for some small special education groups to return to campus in October for small group instruction. As information is shared about our reopening, we will be sure to communicate clearly with our families. We appreciate your patience and support.
MCHS Start with Hello: Our friends at Mt. Carmel High School wanted to send a special message to our students: LINK
A Raider’s Story - Ms. Padilla: From time to time, we like to share a story about a member of our Black Mountain family. Our first Raider’s Story this year is about Ms. Padilla, our new Spanish teacher. LINK
PTSA News: Please consider joining our PTSA. Here is the form: LINK
Again, we appreciate all of your support.
A better school starts with each one of us.

Social Justice Committee
Our first meeting was Tuesday night. It went very well. We had 18 people. We created a mission statement, brainstormed books for a possible book club and shared experiences. Hope was a consistent theme of our entire time together. Our committee will always be welcoming new members. Our next meeting is TUESDAY, OCT. 27 at 6pm via Zoom. I will send anyone who signs up the Zoom link. We plan to meet once a month (on Zoom), possibly Tuesday evenings. If you are interested, fill out the interest form by clicking the LINK

· NEW Parenting LGBTQIAP2 + Children – All Grades
LGBTQIAP2+ -- A list of initials, numbers, and symbols that describes a vibrant community of individuals keeps changing. The dynamic nature of the list, while potentially confusing, reflects the ongoing efforts of the community to both represent and welcome individuals with unique and evolving ways of defining themselves with regard to biological sex, gender identity, romantic attraction, sexuality, spirituality, and advocacy. Participate in a conversation focused on parenting and caregiving LGBTQIAP2+ children.
Monday, October 12th from 6:30pm-8:00pm Online Course via Zoom
Class fee: $16/individual or $27/couple
Preparing Positively for Puberty – TK-8th Grade
We can prepare our children for puberty by teaching them what to expect as their bodies transition from childhood to adulthood. Learn how to break down "the big puberty talk" into tiny talks that are more comfortable for both caregivers and children. Participants will review resources such as books and web sites that can simplify the process of starting a tiny talk. Activities that can promote a positive and practical attitude toward this important life stage will be discussed.
Monday, October 26th from 6:30pm-8:00pm Online Course via Zoom
Class fee: $16/individual or $27/couple
Please note, scholarships are available to parents who may be in need. Parents can contact the Caring Connections Center for more information. Thank you for supporting PUSD Parent Education!
