What Is It?

Inhalants are vapors from toxic substances which are inhaled to get a quick high. There are over a 1,000 household and other common products that can be used as inhalants, such as gas, glue, shoe polish so on.

History

Inhalants have been around since ancient Egypt when they were used in religious ceremonies. Researchers say the first times it was used to intoxicate was in the time of the Greeks by priests.

Short Term Effects:

Slurred speech, drunk, death, rashes on face, hallucinations


Long Term Effects:

Death, muscle weakness, depression, hearing loss

How It's Used

Inhalants are basically sniffed or breathed into the lungs to obtain a high. Many people that abuse inhalants and breath in their chemical toxins use house hold items, like glue or shoe polish.
