Red Ribbon & Stand Up for Others Week
The Red Ribbon Campaign was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City killed DEA agent, Kiki Camarena, in 1985. This began the continuing tradition of displaying red ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a drug-free America.
Every October, schools and organizations across the country join STOMP OUT BULLYING™ in observing National Bullying Prevention month. The goal is to encourage communities to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on children and young adults of all ages.
