AMI Work From Home Day Wednesday
We are sending home student iPads/Chromebooks today. At this time, school is an AMI work from home day tomorrow. Please watch the news/websites for information about Snow Day or AMI on Thursday and Friday.
An AMI day is considered a school day. Students will be expected to complete certain assignments and activities teachers will be sending out. Students will also be asked to get on one Zoom per day with their teacher. Zoom sessions will be offered in the morning and afternoon to offer flexibility for families. The afternoon Zoom will be a repeat of the morning session:
Morning Zooms
8:30 Kinder
9:00 1st
9:30 2nd
10:00 3rd
10:30 4th
11:00 5th
Afternoon Zooms
12:00 Kinder
12:30 1st
1:00 2nd
1:30 3rd
2:00 4th
2:30 5th
Students will participate in ST Math (20 mins), Lexia (20 mins), and a Zoom on each AMI day. They will also have a short paper assignment/choice board activity sent home by the teacher. Teachers will be available for communication between 8:00-3:00 on AMI days (email, Seesaw, Google Classroom). We will not be sending chargers home, therefore students should only use the device for the three assignments listed above. The devices can operate for at least 6 hours without being recharged, so students should have plenty of battery life IF devices are powered off when not being used.
If there are widespread power outages, the district could choose to call for a regular snow day. If this is the case, no assignments would be sent to students and the day would be added on to the end of this school year.
We will communicate via text message, the school website, and social media if there is an AMI or a snow day on Thursday and Friday. Also, the local news stations will share if an AMI or snow day is called.
If your child is not at school today, someone will be in the office until 4:00 pm if you'd like to come pick up his/her device.
