First Grade Students and Parents
Bobcat iStudio
May 16, 2016 - 6:00 - 7:00 pm
Basehor-Linwood School District has received a grant to support our new MakerSpace called the Bobcat iStudio. We will be having a MakerSpace Night for first grade students and their parents (no siblings). We need to have one adult for each student, but are happy to have more than one adult present. Our BLHS BIT team will be on hand to support the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities. We will be building with legos, creating Scribble Bots and playing with a MakeyMakey and Squishy Circuits. The Sign-Up form is at the bottom of this flyer.
We are super excited to have our BLHS BIT students mentor our younger students in creating these exciting projects. Our high school students have been working hard to understand how these projects work in order to be able to explain to our students. High School mentors are important for our younger students to see the possibilities of being a leader as they move through the educational system.
Lego Challenge
Create a structure based on a problem. Learn problem solving and engineering skills.
Scribble Bot
Build a Scribble Bot from various materials that will move using a motor to draw on the paper. Test your construction, engineering and math skills.
BLHS BIT
Our team will be there to teach, support and help with the activities.
