Congratulations ELC Students! You have Had An Amazing School Year!!!

As we wrap up this school year, take time to celebrate your child's academic and developmental growth this school year! We have enjoyed all the learning opportunities and experiences together with you and your child and are so proud of all their accomplishments! From establishing routines, supporting their academics, meeting new challenges, making new friends, and adjusting to change, our students have had an spectacular journey at the ELC this year that will support them on their next academic adventure! Congratulations to our parents who have helped support our students' growth and development! It can be rigorous! Supporting your children through each of these challenges and helping them achieve their goals every step of the way gives them the tools they need to advance and have the confidence they need. Way to Be, Brickies!

STAR 360 Testing In May

We are excited to see our students growth! As you know STAR 360 is an assessment tool our kindergarten students took this fall and winter. Students will be taking STAR 360 again this spring to monitor their growth this school year. It is unique in that it is an adaptive screener taken on an iPad.. That means that the screener will become more difficult the more questions your child answers correctly. When your child incorrectly answers a question, the screener becomes easier. Therefore, your child will take a screener specifically created for his or her learning level. In addition, your child should have the opportunity to learn the information presented on the screener because the tests are aligned with the Indiana Academic Standards.

Renaissance is norm-reference nationally standardized. Nationally standardized means that the screener was administered to students across the country. Norms are also set for the time of year the tests are taken. The scores indicate how well the child is doing in relation to students across the country.

Hello parents! Here we are at the LAST FULL MONTH of school. Can you believe it?? Last month's K and Coffee focus was on Digital Citizenship. We really focus on keep our kiddos safe when it comes to electronics. You can do this by monitoring what they are watching and what they have access to at home. Setting screen time limits can help form a healthy media diet. Check out the packet that is coming home on creating a family media plan.
