Personalized Learning
The what, why, and how for Gr 6-12 teachers
As teachers, we make hundreds of small decisions every day, adjusting our instruction, interactions, planning, and actions. What if we made those decisions with more insight as to what our students need, through intentional strategies and activities throughout the time spent with students?
Julie Monetta, SIEC Director of Educator Support, will be leading and guiding participants as they learn the means to building an interactive relationship with students so natural "progress monitoring" throughout the day can happen without extra time or materials.
This workshop includes:
* Building a safe and challenging classroom where students are empowered and encouraged to take risks
* Acquiring ways to gain information about students' progress and needs (without additional grading or time)
* Helping students learn to self-assess and recognize/monitor their own progress and growth
* Learning techniques that assist with critical thinking and comprehension in every content area
Register soon for this interactive and exciting day of professional learning for teachers in grades 6 through 12 at the Southern Indiana Education Center.
