Reopening to In-Person Learning - Important Short Survey For All ECHS Families
El Camino Student and Families.
We are coming closer to a likely reopening on Monday, April 12. Our teachers and staff are eager to welcome you back! Once open, we will expect to see all of our students back for in-person 1:1 teacher-student meetings on the El Camino campus. However, we understand that, due to various circumstances, some of you may still require the option to continue on Distance Learning. Please take a moment to complete the linked survey to identify your families need. Your response will help us prepare for a safe and smooth return.
Please complete and submit your survey by March 12 at 4pm.
The Following Will Apply to In-Person Learning
Masks - All individuals on campus are required to wear a mask over mouth and nose. If a student/family does not want to wear a mask, or is found to be out of compliance consistently, they will be moved back to distance learning. For more information on the types of mask approved click here.
Physical Distancing – All staff and students are to maintain physical distancing as much as possible while on school grounds.
Required Passive Screening – Families are required to take temperatures daily and monitor for symptoms before attending school on campus. Utilize the daily wellness checklist to help complete the passive screening. Additionally, everyone coming on campus will have their temperature taken.
Cleaning and Disinfecting - Just as is now the protocol in many businesses, all students will be required to cleanse their hands with hand-sanitizer upon entry into classrooms, teachers may use disinfectant on surfaces between student visits, and students may be asked to use soap-based cleanser on surfaces as well. All classrooms and work surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected daily by custodial staff.
VUSD Multi-Site Drop Deadline
El Camino’s deadline to drop a multi-site class without any penalty is Tuesday, March 9. The steps to drop are listed below:
1. Parents contact their student’s counselor to state the intent to drop and verify that the course is not needed for graduation credit.

b. Greg.Jordan@venturausd.org 805-289-7955 x1005
2. Parents notify their student’s multi-site teacher or coach of their intent.
3. Counselors will notify the ECHS office to process the withdrawal.
Dropping a class: A student will be allowed to drop a class without penalty of an “F” grade until the 30th day of the semester. With Administrative approval, a student who drops a class with a passing grade from the 31st day to the 60th day of a semester will receive a Withdrawal (“W”) on their transcript. A student who drops a class with an “F” grade from the 31st day to the 60th day of a semester will receive an “F” on their transcript.
