The Coyote Trail

~All you need to know to find your way this week~

Short week, lots to do...

First, in case you haven't seen Diana's email, here it is:

Good Evening! We hope everyone has had a nice extended weekend with their families. First and foremost thank you for your compassion and understanding through these very difficult times. It has been such a whirlwind in all of our lives since we first heard that Ms. Wells had passed. We appreciate you sharing with us and her family her great legacy of love for children.

This past week we were able to interview and hire a new teacher to continue the learning expectations for our students. While it has been very difficult to fill the shoes of such an amazing teacher as Ms. Wells, we feel that we have found the right person to take over from this point on. Courtney Whitehead will be joining our Cox Family as a new member of our 1st grade team starting Tuesday, January 19. She comes to us very highly recommended with a spirit of love and passion for teaching. As a former Wylie ISD student she understands our high expectations for all students, love for learning and our students. We would like to invite you to join us in giving her a nice warm Cox Family welcome as you see her in the days to come. Today she spent the day with the 1st grade team and became better acquainted with her classroom and student expectations. Thank you all for all your love and compassion as I know she will quickly fall in love with each of you! ~Diana

I love the picture of the balloons that Elisa Schuester took during Kristen's memorial service. Her thought was even better. She said, "Because someone we love is in Heaven, there's a little bit of Heaven in our school."

With the day off today, we have a four day work week that is packed with things to do. Please be sure to read all about all of the events listed below and ask if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!!

21 Day Healthy Snack Challenge

I wanted to give you an update on our events next week for the 21 Day Challenge.

On Tuesday, January 19th we will have an assembly at 7:45-8:15 for the 21 Day Challenge. You will have stickers in your box to put on each student at the end of the day to promote signing up for challenge.

We will also be making copies of the log that need to fill out and keep at home to help with survey at the end of challenge. Please look for those in your box next week also.

On Thursday January 21st at 7:00 pm we will have Family Health night! The Wylie High culinary students will come and prepare healthy snacks and LA Fitness will come and lead some fun Activities for our families!

We got our first list of students that signed up. We had 140 students sign up, which is amazing! But we are still trailing Whitt and Hartman so keep pushing signing up on line for the 21 Day Challenge....we WANT TO WIN! :)

The link is This is all totally free and students get some nice prizes at the end when they fill out the survey! Also it is great to try new HEALTHY SNACKS!

I tried to get most of the students who have already signed up online to sign our banner at school but ran out of time at the end of the day. I will get them on Tuesday. They send us a new list every week so we will do our best to grab every student to sign the banner.

Thanks for all your help! Please put the link on your FB and look for more fun activities to come!
