Chromebooks…Please Handle with Care!

We have seen an uptick in damage to Chromebooks, both accidental and intentional. Please remind and reinforce with your student at home that their Chromebook is the property of the Roxbury Public School District, and they are responsible for the appropriate use and stewardship thereof during their time in Roxbury.

Intentional/avoidable damage that cannot be repaired on-site may result in fines and holds placed on your Genesis account. As a reminder, Chromebook insurance does not cover intentional damage. Additionally, due to a higher-than-usual volume of repairs, loaners may not be available while the device is being repaired/replaced. This can lead to a gap in learning and the additional stress of completing make-up assignments. Let's avoid all of this by taking good care of those Chromebooks.

Project Graduation T-Shirt Design Contest

Project Graduation will be holding a T-Shirt design contest open to all Seniors. You can either create a graphic or hand-drawn design, but it must only be two colors and must contain the words Roxbury, Project Graduation, and 2023. Lake Hopatcong Block Party Volunteers Needed

Dear Roxbury High School Students...

The Lake Hopatcong Block Party celebrates all facets of Lake Hopatcong life by bringing visitors together with businesses, non-profit organizations, community groups, crafters, and food vendors for a community day like no other, featuring activities, raffles, giveaways, a children’s scavenger hunt, and more. This year’s Block Party is set to take place on Saturday May 20 from 10-4pm.

Hundreds of folks join us each year to volunteer, and as the Block Party grows, so does our need for help! Whether you enjoy giving back, meeting new people, or have community service hours to fulfill for school or work, the Block Party is an excellent volunteer opportunity. Our volunteers rave about the camaraderie, fun, and fulfillment that comes from spending a few hours helping the Lake Hopatcong Foundation organize the lake’s lakeside gathering (and there’s a t-shirt in it for you)!

Example Block Party jobs include helping with setup and breakdown, greeting vendors and guests, educating and entertaining children with games and activities, assisting with the free boat rides, coordinating the scavenger hunt, stamping Adventure Program passports, selling 50/50 raffle tickets, corralling cars in the parking lot, and more (much more)! Want to help but aren’t around on May 20? More and more of the Block Party is setup the Friday before, and any amount of time you can give is a big help!

Here’s the link to sign-up and help us:
Groups that want to work together are very welcome! If you are part of a school, scout, or civic group, be sure to leave that information in the “comment” section when signing up. Questions? Call Caitlin at 973-663-2500.

SAT Prep

The Roxbury English department is excited to once again offer the summer SAT Team. We are excited to report that 100% of the students who took last year's course saw an increase in their scores. The course is an affordable and convenient option for Roxbury students preparing for the college application process. The interest meeting for the course is on April 19th and sign-up begins the next day. Please email if you have any questions about the course.
