The Groves Grapevine
Building the future, one student at a time! 7/16/21
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year!
I hope you all have had a restful and exciting summer, spending time enjoying your families and hopefully finding a little time for reading. With the challenges 2020-21 created, I have not been able to see many of your faces in a very long time. I look forward to coming back together in August and reconnecting as a Groves community.
This year our theme is Made to Thrive. Our campus will focus on characteristics that allow us to set goals, overcome challenges, and achieve excellence in all we do. These are the very pillars we use each day to create a mindset in our learners that teaches them to never give up!
Stay connected with us through the Groves Facebook page and by checking your Skyward emails regularly. We hope to see you at all the events coming soon!
Welcome Groves Gator Families!
I am so excited to begin this 2021-2022 school year! My name is Brittney Brown and I am the Assistant Principal. I have two young boys, one of which will be entering 3rd grade at Groves with me! I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your student. We are going to have a great Gator year together! #gatorvision
New Staff Spotlight
Just a few more sleeps until school starts!
- We will welcome back our full staff on August 2nd as teachers prepare their classrooms, their lesson plans, and their excitement for our 2021-22 Gators! Enrollment continues to be online until then, and documents that need to be uploaded (shot record, birth certificate) can be brought in to the office for our registrar, Mrs. Cori Penrose , after August 2nd. If you need help enrolling online, we will have an event at Southfork with WHS, Cooper JH, Draper IS, and Groves ES staff on July 22nd. See the flyer below for more information.
We are excited to continue our Great Gator porch visits this year! Our teachers will bring a yard sign and goodie bag to their students' homes to introduce themselves to the class on Friday Aug. 6th from 2-5pm (you do not need to be present for delivery). Look for your surprise on your porch and in your yard!
- We are welcoming back our 2020-21 3rd and 4th graders for a STAAR celebration event on August 5th from 4:30-5:30 in our school gym. We will begin the celebration there and finish on the new playground. Following the event we will welcome all K-4 2021-22 Gators to the playground to share Popsicles with the Principals from 6-7pm. Swing by and see us!
- We will have our Back to School Bash from 4-6pm on Tuesday, August 10th. All families are welcome to meet the teacher, see the classroom, and drop off school supplies. We cannot wait to see each of your faces and kick this school year off right!
- Our first day of school will be Thursday, August 12th. Doors open at 7:00am. Parents may walk their students to their classroom beginning at 7:15am. A Yahoo and Boo Hoo Breakfast is being provided by our Groves PTA for all Kindergarten parents beginning at 7:30am in the library.
