Capital City

The capital city of Indonesia is Jakarta.It is the largest city in Indonesia with the area covering up to 740km! It has an estimate of ten million people living there.

The colours that had been used on the flag is red and white.Those colours come from the banner of the 13th century Majapahit Empire beacause people believed that red symbolises earth and white symbolises the sky.

In Indonesia,every island has a native animal.

In Sumatra they have Sumatran tigers,Sumatran orangutans, Pygmy elephants,Sumatran rhinos,Sumatran tigers and in Borneo they have Bornean orangutans,Borneo Pygmy elephants,Monkey sun bear,Clouded leopard and Flying fox bat.

Landscape

Indonesia is a country with 13,466 islands which gives it a variety of landscapes.

In Indonesia it has mountains,lakes and rivers such as the tallest mountain in Indonesia,Puncak Jaya,the largest lake,Lake Toba and the largest rivers,Mahakam and Barito.In Sumatra the landscape is mostly lush green rain forests and in West Sumatra the landscape is mostly about hot raging volcanoes like Krakotoa.

Human Features Of The Country

The total population in Indonesia is estimated to be around 260 million people.They also have 300 different languages that are spoken in Indonesia but their main language is Indonesian.There are six official religion,Muslim,Protestantism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucian but more than half of the population are Muslim.

Education

In Indonesia,it is the law to take nine years of education if you are a citizen.6 years of primary school and 3 years of high school. They mostly go to school at 6.30am and return at 3.00pm.Even though more than half of the population are Muslim,there are not alot of people who attend religious schools.

Transport

In Indonesia,they have cars.buses,taxis,becak,ojek and dokar.

In Jakarta,becaks were banned in the 1990s due to traffic jams and soon ojeks came popping up.Ojeks are basically taxis but with motorbikes instead of cars.They are commonly found at the markets or at crossroads.Another transport that is different to Australia is Dokars.It is a horse drawn,cart.It can fit up to four people.

In Indonesia,It is mostly covered up with a tropical climate.Its average tempurature in the coastal plains exceeds up to 28 degrees and in the mountain areas it exceeds up to 23 degrees.
